POV: There’s No Such Thing as an Easy Run

we say it every time. “today we’re keeping it easy.”

and every time, somewhere around mile one, somebody nudges the pace. somebody answers. the pack tightens and that easy run quietly becomes something more.

but here’s the thing. that’s not an accident. that’s growth.

because you don’t get better in the comfortable miles. you get better in the ones that ask a little more of you than you planned to give. the ones where someone beside you pushes you past the pace you would’ve settled for alone. that’s the gift of running with people who refuse to let you coast.

every “easy run” that turns hard is just proof that you’re surrounded by people pulling you forward. iron sharpening iron. legs sharpening legs. nobody rising alone.

so no, it’s never really easy. but easy was never the point.

the point is becoming someone you couldn’t have become by yourself.

and that only happens when you show up, lace up, and let the people around you carry you to a place you didn’t know you could reach.

so push. get pushed. and keep showing up.

these are the runs that change you.
