it does not measure skin, language, or last names.
it simply carries us forward,
step by step, side by side,
until strangers become family.
so we choose forward.
forward past fear.
past cages and cruelty.
past systems that separate children from their parents
and call it order.
we run against violence in every form.
against hate.
against ice.
against anything that forgets our shared humanity.
we run for the ones taken too soon,
for families still waiting for justice,
for the right of every person
to live free and unafraid.
