It Was Never About Running

it was never about running.

we say that a lot. but september is the month we mean it most.

september is suicide prevention month. and before it’s anything else, this post is for the person reading it who’s been carrying something heavy in silence. we see you. we’re glad you’re here. and we need you to stay.

the truth is, a lot of us found running when we were trying to survive something. the miles were the therapy we could afford. the sunrise runs were the reason to get out of bed. the tribe was the family that noticed when we went quiet. running didn’t save us because it made us faster. it saved us because it kept us here.

so we know what movement can carry. and we know what silence can cost.

if you’re struggling right now, please hear this. you are not a burden. you are not weak. and you are not alone, no matter how convincing the dark gets. the world is better with you in it. not the version of you that has it all figured out. you. exactly as you are right now.

reach out. to a friend. to family. to us. our dms are always open, any hour, any day. i would rather lose sleep at 4am talking you through the worst night of your life than ever run a mile in your memory.

and check on your people. the strong ones. the funny ones. the ones who are always “good.” ask twice. mean it. sometimes the question is the lifeline.

one more mile. one more morning. one more reason. keep going.

we run with you. today and every day after. 🖤🪶
